New Journal to Offer Rapid Publication of Specialized Interest Research
LONDON – June 8, 2010 — Informa Healthcare announced today that it will be launching its first open-access journal, the Journal of Drug Assessment (JDA). The online, peer-reviewed journal will focus on the rapid publication of specialized interest research, including inconclusive and negative clinical trial results. The journal will be launched this autumn.
“Regulatory requirements are changing, and pharmaceutical companies are facing pressure to publish all clinical trial data. Traditionally, journals have focused on the publication of conclusive trial results,” explained Publisher Jay Magrann. “This journal’s mission is to channel the specialized interest research that may otherwise be excluded by many journals’ selection policies to physicians and the public alike.”
JDA will be part of a new journal series with Current Medical Research & Opinion (CMRO) and the Journal of Medical Economics (JME). Like its sister titles, JDA will offer rapid and rigorously peer-reviewed publication of clinical trial data.
JDA will join Informa Healthcare’s portfolio of over 170 journals, including CMRO, the Expert Opinion series, the Critical Review series, Leukemia and Lymphoma, Clinical Toxicology, and society journals including Harvard Review of Psychiatry, Acta Oncologica and British Journal of Neurosurgery.
