Permissions

Informa Healthcare partners with the Copyright Clearance Center to administer permissions on its behalf via Copyright.com and via its RightsLink system, accessed directly from the Informa Healthcare site. If you require assistance for your permissions request, please contact the Copyright Clearance Center directly.

Third-party permissions

For straightforward non-author requests, we recommend using the RightsLink feature adjacent to every journal article and book chapter on InformaHealthcare.com. If you are requesting permissions directly through Copyright.com, start your search by entering the journal or book title (not the name of the article or chapter).

All permission requests must be submitted directly to the Copyright Clearance Center or requested through RightsLink. To request via RightsLink, simply find the article you require on InformaHealthcare.com and click on the ‘Permissions’ link.

The majority of Informa Healthcare permissions are currently available by special request only. Unless you are using our content in a course, you will need to choose from one of the following: ‘Republish or display content‘ or ‘Share content electronically‘.

Republish or display content‘ is the best option for content that will appear both in electronic and print format. This includes: theses, journal articles, book chapters, brochures and printed slide decks.

Share content electronically‘ is for use in: websites, intranets, extranets and e-newsletters. This does not include academic online repositories — this is covered by ‘republish or display content’.

Author permissions

If you are an author seeking to reuse your own work, you may already be covered by your Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA).

The CTA covers most non-commercial uses of your content, including submitting your thesis to an institutional repository. If your intended use is covered by the CTA, you do not need to apply for permission.

If you are looking to reuse your content for a commercial purpose, such as producing a marketing brochure or republishing your thesis as a book, you will most likely need to apply for permission via the Copyright Clearance Center. Please raise your request here, commencing your search with the book or journal title in which you were published.
